Documentary Premiere: Un Sueño Hecho Realidad / A Dream Come True (2016)

Through the California-Mexico Dreamers Study Abroad Program , Dreamers have had the incredible chance to return to their native Mexico. This rare opportunity is available to undocumented students who are protected under Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). Selected participants are able to travel to Mexico for educational purposes through a college course offered by the Califonia-Mexico Studies Center (CMSC) andCalifornia State University, Long Beach .

The Winter 2015 trip, funded by the  Juntos Podemos / Together We Can Foundation, was a dream come true for 30 Dreamers who did not have the opportunity to return to Mexico, in some cases, for more than 20 years since they were brought as children to the United States.

CMSC Multimedia Director and filmmaker Lidieth Arevalo, created the wonderful documentary below, which features highlights from the Winter 2015 Dreamers Study Abroad 24-day trip, including exciting travel moments, emotional family reunions, and strong friendships developing among the participants.
