Profe's 70th Birthday Fundraiser

In honor of Prof. Armando Vazquez-Ramos’ upcoming 70th birthday this August 10, 2019, the CMSC Team would like to ask for your support to our Advance Parole Applications Fund Drive that aims to restore DACA’s Advance Parole.

“Profe”, as many of us like to warmly call him, is a leader and an activist who has been promoting educational opportunities for the Chicano/Mexican and Latino population for more than 50 years; a pioneer committed to advance the teaching of Ethnic Studies and the educational, economic and cultural relationship between California and Mexico.

Admirably, he still has the same commitment and energy to carry on the fight for justice in many fronts as he did in his early activism days in the 1960’s.

In 2014, Profe established the California-Mexico Dreamers Study Abroad Program, a unique, and life-changing program that allowed over 160 Dreamers the opportunity to study abroad in Mexico through 6 travel-study classes and returned them legally to the U.S. through DACA’s Advance Parole provision.

Most recently, he has been at the forefront of the challenge to restore DACA’s Advance Parole and pressure the U.S. government to follow the federal court orders that reinstated DACA in January 2018. His support and leadership have been fundamental in launching the National Campaign to Restore DACA’s Advance Parole.

As DACA recipients, the CMSC team truly appreciates Profe Armando’s never-ending energy, vision, and commitment to keep moving forward despite the current political climate.

Muchas gracias, Profe !

They call us “soñadores” (Dreamers), but you’re the real Dreamer behind the CMSC’s efforts and projects !!!

For this very reason, we would like to take this opportunity to honor Profe’s legacy and commitment to undocumented immigrants and Dreamers.  In doing so, we would like to ask for you to donate and support our campaign fund drive!

Any amount will help us move closer to our goal and continue our advocacy to fully restore Advance Parole for DACA recipients.

La lucha sigue!

– The CMSC Team,

Lidieth Arevalo, Citlalli Ortiz, Mayra Garibo, Miriam Delgado, Luz Vazquez and Armando Godinez.
