AV-R’s video on the discriminatory denial of CARES Act benefits to Dreamers

As a result of the coronavirus pandemic, in March of 2020 Congress passed the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act (also known as the CARES act). The act provides funds for students attending colleges and universities nationwide. But Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos has determined that those young people in the DACA program (Delayed Action for Childhood Arrivals), the co-called Dreamers,  cannot access these funds.  In this Latinopia Plática, Dr. Armando Vazquez-Ramos of the California Mexico Studies Center explains plans for a legal response to the ruling.
