Altamed’s COVID response in the Latino community and Book “Chicano Boom”

Hispanics have been disproportionately hurt by the coronavirus pandemic due to their jobs as essential workers and multigenerational living conditions. In California, Latinos represent 60% of Covid cases and nearly 50% of deaths through August despite the fact that Latinos make up less than 40% of California’s population. This thought-provoking virtual panel will provide a roadmap for community organizations to focus on essential workers and high-risk populations in the long COVID recovery process. Also, to identify opportunities to grow and partnerships that address social determinants and long-term health issues facing our Latino communities.
