Our documentary film Advance Parole (2018) has been selected as a finalist in the Imagen Awards Short/Student Films & Web Series Competition, which will be part of the 33rd Annual Imagen Awards to take place at the J.W. Marriott L.A. Live on Saturday, August 25th, 2018.

The film that gets the most votes in each category, will be declared the winner and will be presented at the awards ceremony on August 25th!

Our goal with the film is for it to reach as many people and audiences as possible to create awareness regarding the suspension of Advance Parole (the immigration provision), and to advocate to reinstate it meanwhile congress finds a permanent fix for DACA recipients.

ABOUT ADVANCE PAROLE THE DOCUMENTARY:

Short synopsis:
Advance Parole is a short documentary that follows Mayra Garibo's (a DACA recipient) plight to re-establish Advance Parole (the provision) for all Dreamers and to be able to reunite with her family in times of hardship.

Featuring: U.S. Reps. Alan Lowenthal and Nanette Díaz-Barragán, Prof. Armando Vazquez-Ramos, Mayra Garibo and Luis Tinoco (two Dreamers currently facing a humanitarian crises due to the suspension of Advance Parole), and Lidieth Arevalo (a DACA recipient and filmmaker).
