The CMSC invites Dreamers to Apply for our Summer 2022 Study Abroad Program

Inspired by our team’s spirit and the 100% safe and legal return of all 210 participants of our Dreamers study abroad program this summer, I am pleased to announce that we have decided to begin today the recruitment and selection of 150 DACA recipients for the CMSC’s 2022 Summer Dreamers Study Abroad Program.

With the success of our program, the CMSC has also established a national precedent that DACA’s Advance Parole for educational purposes has been re-established, and that colleges and universities throughout the U.S. can provide study abroad opportunities to Dreamers attending their institutions.

The CMSC will continue to advocate for this benefit to be extended to Dreamers in U.S. higher education, and will offer to provide assistance for colleges and universities, to facilitate this life-changing opportunity to their students.

In particular, the CMSC will continue to promote for U.S. and California colleges and universities, to create 2022 academic exchange and study abroad opportunities with Mexican institutions of higher education.

We sincerely appreciate the support provided by our sponsors and donors, attorneys Jorge Gonzalez and Carlos Holguin for filing our Writ of Mandamus in federal court to force the approval of our Advance Parole permits, and the subsequent collaboration provided by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

We also trust and appreciate that we have now established a professional and collaborative relationship for our programs (and others that we may assist in the future) with the DHS Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) to approve future Advance Parole applications, and Dreamers’ safe return to the U.S. through the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) at LAX, and the Ped West CBP at the San Ysidro point of entry in Tijuana, Mexico.

Please share widely with your contacts and direct Dreamers to respond quickly due to the high demand and reduced capacity of our program.
