President Joe Biden

Dear President Biden,

I FedEx’ed yesterday the attached letter to you and VP Kamala Harris, which we published on Thursday January 20, 2022, in our weekly newsletter (see below) to celebrate the 1st anniversary of your administration.

This is not another critical opinion, but perhaps a viable idea for you as our President to reverse course and ‘check-mate’ the GOP.

We are respectfully calling upon you to exercise your Presidential Authority to Pardon all Undocumented Immigrants and Deported Parents of U.S. Citizen Children Forced into Exile, as of January 20, 2022.

As a General Presidential Pardon for essential workers, Dreamers, TPS holders and U.S.-citizen children victims of forced exile due to the deportation of their parents, you could summarily protect and resolve our endemic immigration problem without risking the possibility of being reversed by the U.S. Supreme Court, or Congress, if the Republicans regain majority in the House of Representatives.

This is an alternative solution since you and the Vice President are facing declining poll numbers, a fractured Democratic Party, and the despicable betrayal of 2 Democratic senators that have blocked your most important policy agenda, protection of voting rights and the rule of law in our country.

As you know, all your executive actions will be challenged in the courts by the GOP and I believe that the bold action we are proposing would in fact reverse the downward trend that by all accounts predicts Dems losing the House (and possibly the Senate) in November.

In fact, your courageous action as proposed would be justified as a response to the shortage of workers in the aftermath of the pandemic, to boost the economy and perhaps outmaneuver the recalcitrant GOP in lockstep with Trump’s minions in Congress.

I'd like to receive a formal response to my letter from you and hereby request to schedule a Zoom meeting with someone from your office and me, Rep. Lou Correa, labor union leaders Ray Cordova and Ron Herrera, Sen. Maria Elena Durazo and a couple of Dreamers.

I sincerely believe that this ‘out-of-the-box’ idea is viable, and it could be a game-changer.
